Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is one of the oldest forms of the healing arts. The physical and psychological benefits of massage have been recognized and valued since ancient times. Massage therapy is available at the Women's Health Center by a Licensed Massage Therapist.

Massage therapy may be used to:

  • Relax
  • Loosen muscle tension
  • Improve circulation
  • Enhance well being
  • Provide a more restful sleep
  • Improve skin tone
  • Reduce stress
  • Reduce tension headaches
  • Reduce anxiety
In addition to these benefits, massage can also help to relieve many of the normal discomforts of pregnancy, such as backaches, leg cramps, sinus congestion, headaches and edema as well as alleviating stress. Our massage therapist is certified in pregnancy massage, and our massage table is designed to comfortably accommodate an expecting mom. Our massage therapist is also certified in newborn massage.

There are some conditions when massage may not be beneficial to you and the therapist may want to consult with your physician or other health care professional before proceeding. These conditions may include blood clots, some types of cancers and recent strokes.
