WHY GIVE?

Are you contemplating a charitable contribution to the TRUST? We can offer several reasons why giving to the TRUST is an excellent decision, but we think it’s better if you hear from our current donors and learn why they're giving.

WHO’S GIVING?

The TRUST receives contributions from individuals, families, corporations and foundations. Our current donors consist of McCullough-Hyde patients, families of patients, McCullough-Hyde physicians, staff and volunteers, members of the hospital board, citizens in the hospital’s service area, and grant-making organizations.

WHY THEY’RE GIVING

“McCullough-Hyde has dramatically changed in the 30 years we have lived in Oxford. We would like to insure that it would continue to grow and change. We believe that this area deserves the best in health care. We have supported McCullough-Hyde through the years and have included it in our estate planning way to ensure it continuation of quality health care for generations to follow. We hope you will join us in planning similar gifts for the future.”

-Dr. and Mrs. Terry Hunt

“When we moved to Brookville, Indiana in the late sixties, we felt fortunate to find a hospital so close to home that provided outstanding and compassionate care. In 1997 Judy was asked to serve as a member of the board of trustees of McCullough-Hyde. She served on the Development Committee, Quality Committee, Building Community, and as board chair for two years. It was during her ten-year tenure on the board that we came to fully understand just how important a strong Trust is to the functioning of the hospital. We firmly believe that adding McCullough-Hyde to our annual giving list is an important way we can help ensure that the hospital autonomously continues to serve us and our neighbors in Liberty and Brookville, and the region, far into the future.”

-Mike and Judy Douglass

“For many years we have valued McCullough-Hyde’s service to our community. As a registered nurse, Joan admired the pioneering work of Dr. Garvin McClain in revolutionizing the Maternity Department. She also supervised Miami University nursing students in Obstetrics and saw two grandchildren born here. Our interest was further enhanced by two family members who served on the Board of Directors: brother-in-law, John Haskins, and Joan’s father, Dr. Walter McNelly. We have joined many other families in giving to the hospital to ensure quality health care for future generations.”

-Dr. and Mrs. Charles Teckman

“My Dad taught me to give back to my employer, because they give so much to me. McCullough-Hyde has given me a lot in the 31 years I’ve worked here and has become my extended family. My husband and I take great pride in giving to the hospital Trust, and hope our family and yours will continue the tradition for years to come.”

The Randall Chewning Family

-Darlene Chewning, MHMH Laboratory employee since 1976

“I cannot begin to express our heartfelt gratitude for the care we received. From the moment I arrived at the emergency room, the care was at all times professional, expedient and caring. As part of the Oxford community, we realize how blessed we are to have a facility like McCullough-Hyde.”

-Patient Michael Beck and wife Terry

“Actively supporting McCullough-Hyde can strengthen our community and improve our health.”

-Hospital board member

“It’s important for people in a community to support their hospital, because you never know when it might be you, your family or your friends who need it.”

-Neal and Melanie Carlson, parents of a patient

“McCullough-Hyde has been very important to us and our community. We wanted to help make sure this community would continue to have such a fine hospital.”

DONOR RECOGNITION

SPECIAL DONOR RECOGNITION FOR ONCOLOGY CLINIC EXPANSION PROJECT

A special permanent recognition plaque will be designed and mounted outside the newly expanded Oncology Clinic to honor donors who make major gifts to the 50th Anniversary Oncology Clinic Expansion Project. Donors who pledge and make gifts of $10,000 or more will be listed on this special plaque. (Such gifts will also factor into the cumulative giving totals recognized on the permanent Donor Wall across from the donor fountain in the hospital lobby area. See below.)

DONOR RECOGNITION LEVELS ARE RENAMED

Recently, the Hospital Board revised the donor recognition structure to simplify it. A graphic below illustrates the changes:

  • The multi-level “Hyde Honor Circle” designation has been removed
  • The “HYDE SOCIETY” replaces the former BENEFACTOR level designation, and recognizes donors who have given $50,000+

  • NEW

    PREVIOUS

All donors are recognized in our Annual Donor Report, however, those who cumulatively give more than $250 in a calendar year are listed on our Donor Wall in the hospital. The wall is organized by recognition levels ranging from Friends to the Philanthropist Society. The Donor Wall is updated annually to reflect new donors and those who move to a different giving level.

The TRUST Donor Wall is located across from the
Founders' Fountain off the hospital's main lobby.
A first look at the new
    Memorial & Honor Wall

We recently installed a new Memorial & Honor Wall next to the Donor Wall. Donors who wish to list a name on our new wall must give a single memorial or honorary gift of $1000 or more. To learn more about memorial and honor gifts click here.

A popular alternative to a listing on the Memorial & Honor Wall are commemorative paver bricks in the Hospital Garden. To learn more about the commemorative garden bricks click here.
