WOMEN'S HEALTH & OBSTETRICS: Baby Bound
In cooperation with your physician or midwife, McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital offers "Baby Bound." Baby Bound is a prenatal education program in which an Obstetrical Registered Nurse, identified as the Baby Bound Nurse, will meet with you 1-2 times during pregnancy. There is no charge for participation in this program.
The visits will include guidelines for caring for yourself and your baby throughout the pregnancy, delivery, and after the delivery. We will:
- Assess for pregnancy and delivery risk factors
- Provide access to support services
- Offer guidelines for nutrition and a healthy diet
- Discuss pain management options during labor
- Discuss newborn feeding options
- Provide extensive breastfeeding education and support
- Discuss care of your newborn
- Provide you with information on all of our perinatal programs
In addition, we will assist you in completion of pre-admission forms and other necessary paperwork. This will allow you to spend quality time with your family before and after the birth of your newborn.
Through participation in the program you will be informed and prepared during this exciting time of your life.
A Baby Bound Nurse contacts participants by phone and/or letter to arrange their first visit.
Please call (513) 524-5689 for more information.
