We encourage and support individuals who wish to make an impact on the health care we provide to our community.

McCullough-Hyde offers three different categories of volunteering—adults, teens and Miami University students. All volunteers must complete an application, provide immunization records, pass a background check and provide two references. Tuberculosis Skin Testing and Flu Vaccines are required. Below are the three options with areas of interest.

Adult volunteers

Days and hours are flexible and vary by department. Each individual has a designated day and time.

Courtesy Same day surgery
Patient registration Inpatient care
Offices Obstetrics
Ross facility Brookville facility

College students

**We are not accepting any Miami University student volunteer applications at this time, as we are at capacity for Spring 2016.

 A two semester commitment, once a week for 3 to 4 hours.

Inpatient care Obstetrics
Physical therapy Emergency
Nutrition Intensive care unit
Imaging Offices

Teen volunteers

Must be 15 years of age or entering sophomore year in high school. 75 hours in a summer (May through August), 1 to 2 times per week. 2 to 4 hours per volunteer session. Information packets are mailed to area high school guidance offices in March each year.

Physical therapy Imaging
Emergency (approval required)  

Applications are available in the hospital’s main lobby at the Information Desk. Volunteers are required to attend orientation before starting to volunteer. Volunteers are trained within the departments.
