Chefs' Celebration 2011: Another success!

McCullough-Hyde Hospital Trust is pleased to announce that its fifth biennial fundraiser, Chefs' Celebration 2011, held at The Knolls of Oxford on November 19, 2011, was another success. Chaired by local physician Dr. Kami Park and husband Dr. Neil Danielson, the Chefs' Celebration Committee exceeded its goal of raising $100,000 to purchase equipment for the hospital including a critical care ventilator, a fetal monitor and an electronic physician order entry system.

The black-tie event showcased gourmet cuisine prepared by 11 regional chefs paired with fine wine for 300 guests. The event featured a group of nationally and regionally recognized chefs including Jean-Robert de Cavel, owner/chef of Jean-Robert's Table in Cincinnati, and the husband and wife team of Paul and Pam Sturkey from West Chester. Also cooking for guests were Chef Jackson Rouse who recently moved to SmoQ in Springdale and nationally known chocolatier, Ghyslain Maurais from Richmond, Indiana.Chef's Celebration 2011

Oxford area chefs included: Sean Bement of Stella 12 Beech, Greg Fitzgerald from Kroger, Patrick Karousis of Quarter Barrel Pub and Tim Payne, creative chef at Kona Bistro. These chefs joined Ginny Thiell, artistic executive chef at the Marcum Center, and host chef, Michael Williams from The Knolls.

To enhance the dining experience, Dr. Gil and Joyce Gordon expertly paired the chefs' cuisine with three wines from their private cellar, while Dr. William and Stephanie Rogers and the McCullough-Hyde Hospital Medical Staff sponsored the remaining pairing wines. Champagne and table wine were served courtesy of Main Street Gourmet, while Oxford Spirits provided specialty craft beers and after-dinner liqueurs.

"Chefs' Celebration has blossomed into an enormous success that continues to grow and benefit McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital," said Chefs' Celebration committee chairs Drs. Kami Park and Neil Danielson. "The support of our dedicated committee and generous sponsors helps ensure that McCullough-Hyde stays independent and equipped with the latest technology."

Chefs' Celebration, held every other year since 2003, is a physician-inspired event to build awareness and financial support for the Hospital Trust, and to purchase much-needed equipment for the hospital. Traditionally held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Chefs' Celebration has become a signature event for the hospital.
