Chefs Celebration 2015

McCullough-Hyde Hospital Trust’s seventh biennial fundraiser, Chefs’ Celebration 2015 took place on November 7, 2015 at the Oxford Community Arts Center. Chaired by local physician Dr. John Harlan and Susan Fortney-Harlan, the event raised more than $65,000 to purchase equipment for the hospital, including a new Infant Security System and a hospital-wide Cardiac Monitoring System.

This special event featured fine dining designed by Cincinnati based Master Chef Paul Sturkey. Chef and wine stations were located throughout the venue for each guest to indulge in a wide variety of tastings. Additional participating chefs included Michelle Brown of Jag’s Steak and Seafood of West Chester, Jean-Robert de Cavel of Jean-Robert’s Table, Jackson Rouse of The Rookwood Bar and Restaurant, Nat Blanford of Maketewah Country Club, Ginny Thiell of Miami Catering, Joel Parks of Stella 12 Beech, pastry chef Pam Sturkey of Pam Sturkey Cakes and chef chocolatier Jean Philipe Solnom.

 To complement the dining selections, Dr. Gil and Joyce Gordon expertly paired the chefs’ cuisine with several wines from their private cellar. Champagne, table wine and after-dinner liqueurs were served courtesy of Main Street Gourmet, while Oxford Coffee Company provided specialty coffees and teas.  Music and art enhanced the guest experience.


Chefs’ Celebration, held every other year since 2003, is a physician-inspired event to build awareness and financial support for the Hospital Trust, and to purchase much-needed equipment for the hospital. The support of dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors ensures that it’s a  successful  as it has become a signature event for the hospital.  See below for sponsors and photos of the 2015 event.
